Privacy Policy
Who we are
This website is run by the South East RENAL network, the children's kidney care network for the South East of England, whose specialist hub is Evelina London Children's Hospital (part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust). You can contact the network team about anything on this page at gst-tr.southeastrenalnetwork@nhs.net.
What this website collects
This website has no user accounts, contact forms or surveys, and does not itself store any personal information about you. Personal data is only processed in the limited ways described below:
- Email: if you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us. Emails are handled within NHSmail. Please do not include clinical details about your child in a first email — we will advise you on the safest way to share anything needed.
- Hospital finder — postcode: if you type a postcode into the "Find Nearest" tool on the home page, it is sent to postcodes.io (a free, open service using Office for National Statistics data) to look up its coordinates. We do not store the postcode, and the result is only used in your browser to show your nearest hospital.
- Hospital finder — location: if you press "Use GPS", your browser asks your permission and your coordinates are used only within your own browser. They are never sent to us or to any third party.
- Hosting: the site is hosted by Netlify, which (like all web hosts) processes visitors' IP addresses to deliver pages and may keep short-term server logs.
Third-party services on this site
- Google Fonts: pages load fonts from Google's servers, which means your IP address is visible to Google when a page loads.
- YouTube videos: embedded videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which does not set tracking cookies unless you play a video. When you play a video, YouTube (Google) processes data under its own privacy policy.
- WeVideo: recorded talks are embedded from WeVideo, which processes data under its own privacy policy when you view them.
- Content delivery networks: a small number of scripts load from public CDNs (jsDelivr), which see your IP address when serving those files.
- Site search: the search box on this site works within your browser. If you submit a search to the Google fallback, your search terms are sent to Google.
We do not use any analytics or advertising services, and we do not sell or share personal data.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over personal data held about you, including the rights of access, rectification and erasure. To exercise them, contact us at the email address above. If you are unhappy with how a data matter has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookie Policy
This website does not set any cookies of its own and does not use analytics or tracking cookies.
Embedded third-party content can set its own cookies when you interact with it: YouTube videos use privacy-enhanced embeds that only set cookies once you press play, and WeVideo talks may set cookies when viewed. You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings without affecting your use of the rest of this site.
